Georgia Insurance Commissioner John F. King has been on the front line during times of crisis for the United States for most of his career. A former Georgia police chief and current Major General in the U.S. Army National Guard, King has plenty of experience in emergency management, handling everything from natural catastrophes to top military operations.
Still, King says the COVID-19 pandemic happening now is beyond the scope of anything he has seen before in his service, which includes deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan. In this interview with Insurance Journal, King talked about his current work to support states dealing with the pandemic, as well as his role as insurance commissioner in supporting consumers and the industry get through this crisis.
